Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka who is the Ogirisi Igbo and member of Board of Trustees (BoT) of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has commended the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, for the mass burial of the unidentified corpses of the tanker accident victims at Upper Iweka Road in Onitsha at the Obosi cemetery.
Ezeonwuka said: “As a contributor to the burial of Igbo sons and daughters who died during the civil war, in a bid to cleanse the land of vices and ghosts haunting, I know that no previous governor did it except Chief Obiano. Instead, other governors created more ghosts by killing more people through beheading and the burning of youths as a strategy of security control, using Bakassi, and the shoot-at-sight on MASSOB youths.
“Now that thousands of Igbo youths, who died during the war have been given a befitting burial, to enable their hovering angry spirits rest in peace, the Obiano government maintains the excercise by ensuring that every dead person in Anambra is buried, which prompted the mass burial of unidentified Upper Iweka corpses.” he also stated.
