It was a tragic moment yesterday in Ojo area of Lagos as a boat carrying 14 students capsized, 6 of the victims have been fished out from the river, dead. The remaining have been rescued according to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
NEMA gathered that the devastating boat was travelling from Ojo to Irewe when the tragedy occurred at 8am.
NEMA South-West Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Ibrahim Familoye, who confirmed the incident, said; “Yes, it is true. NEMA has just been alerted of a boat mishap that involved 14 school children who were being conveyed across Ojo to Irewe jetty."

This is the second time a similar tragedy is occuring within lagos metropolis the later was March last year when a boat conveying school children capsized at 6th Avenue FESTAC town in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area.
