APC refuses to accept 'defecting' Benue PDP lawmaker into its folds

One of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in Benue State, Mr Nick Eworo, was told to stay at his party after his move to  join the  ruling All Progressives Congressives (APC) was rejected.
    Hon. Nick Eworo
Eworo, who represents Obi state constituency on the platform of the PDP, had, last Thursday, forwarded a letter to the Speaker of the state assembly, Honourable Ikyange Terkinhir, of his plan to defect to the ruling APC.
Eworo claimed, in his letter, that he was expelled from the PDP on June 16 by the Obi Local Government chapter of the party  on the ground that he allegedly supported the emergence of an APC Speaker, in a House dominated by the PDP.
But the Obi Local Government chairman of the APC , Mr David Ida, stated that the party would not accommodate the lawmaker into its fold,  stating that the party was already at the tribunal to challenge the emergence of Eworo.
According to Ida, “we have a pending suit at the tribunal challenging the election of Mr Eworo so he should remain in his party until the matter is adjudicated upon, moreover, his purported defection from the PDP to our party, the APC, did not follow due process.’’
